Posted By Teresa Redder, on March 17th, 2024 Greetings to all from St. Francis Retreat House in Easton, PA, where St. Francis Fraternity held a Chapter of Elections on St. Patrick’s Day. The fraternity had 100% attendance, with 21 members present to cast their votes.

Brothers and sisters,
At our Region’s November gathering, we distributed Franciscan Solitude calendars to the Fraternity Ministers and Formation Directors to provide Franciscan inspiration for 2024.
For the month of February, the picture was of the sanctuary of La Foresta in the Rieti Valley, a place very special to St. Francis. The calendar urged us to read Chapter XIX of the Little Flowers of St. Francis. In many respects, this story is similar to the loaves and fishes, requiring patience and faith when our senses are challenged. Tom Betz, OFM Cap (Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Church-Philadelphia, PA) offered a Lenten retreat on Sunday, February 25th, with the theme of “Jesus of Nazareth.” In his reflection, Fr. Tom also spoke about the Stigmata of St. Francis. Bob McKee, an inquirer to the fraternity, presented perspectives on Jesus’ forgiveness from the Cross.
